Radiative flux graph
After energy from the sun is absorbed by the Earth's surface or gases in the atmosphere, some energy is re-emitted. While the peak of solar energy reaching the top of Earth's atmosphere is visible light, the earth emits most of its energy at a different frequency: infrared radiation. Hover over the blue circles to find out more. How is infrared radiation different from visible light?
