Road heat mirage
Have you ever seen a 'mirage' on a hot day, where a warm road or sidewalk appers to be wet or glittering when it is actually dry? In the images above, you can see that the road appears to be shining; the glimmer you see is caused by heat, or infrared thermal radiation rising from the road surface.
